FRANCE, ITALY FIND COMMON THREAD TOWARD LIBYA'S CRISISI
The Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said he had agreed with the French President Emmanuel Macron on a common approach and joint work to achieve stability in Libya.
Conte and Macron discussed in Rome on Wednesday mechanisms to hold a conference for Libyan parties and a European mechanism for returning the immigrants to their countries of origin.
He hailed the initiative proposed by France and Italy's foreign ministers in New York to find a solution to the Libyan crisis, Aki news agency reported, saying that the initiative is a tangible step for stability in Libya.
"Group of Seven Summit of last August helped put the idea of an international conference on Libya for all stakeholders in Libya and an inter-Libyan conference for all the country's parties." Macrom said.
On Wednesday as well, the Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj met in Rome with Conte and discussed the latest developments in Libya as the former reiterated that there will be no dialogue with the leaders of Tripoli offensive (Khalifa Haftar) in any upcoming political process.
